Everything else on that show is bunk, but when they portray partner behavior around the firm, you say to yourself "they understand". It's one thing not being biglaw or bust, but if they want biglaw, T14 is the easiest way to get there and the debt burden should still be low with those stats. If your friend wants, say, to be a PD, then the equation changes a bit. Then that full scholarship and stipend might make a lot more sense.
